I began my journey at 15 years old, working at a Ponderosa Steakhouse in Parkersburg, West Virginia. My job was simple. Keep the tables spotless so families could return to clean plates and go back for seconds at the buffet. But even then I noticed something that never left me. I kept wondering how any owner could truly make a living when that much hard-earned money disappeared before it ever reached the register.

That question followed me through culinary school in 1998 and into my time cooking for the Army in 1999. It traveled with me through every kitchen I worked in across the country, from counter service to catering to fine dining and everything in between. Over the next 25 years I opened restaurants, managed teams, consulted for owners, and even built my own concepts. At the same time I built a career in corporate technology. I saw the power of clean systems and real data up close.

Then I realized the two worlds I loved most could finally come together. The kitchen, where passion and precision meet every single day. And technology, especially the rise of AI.
